Program note 2023 This piece is built upon deconstructed materials of a very old Christmas hymn, "The Cherry Tree Carol," which I created during a period of depression. Over the course of many months I used these fragments as materials for new pieces, creating unrecognizable reconstructions. Looking back I see how this coincided with my mental health journey- picking up old pieces of myself and weaving them together into something new. Thanks to Steph Davis for breathing life into this work.
