Inflorescence

Program Note:

Inflorescence is a botanical term that refers to the arrangement of flower petals on a stem. I thought about this idea of spiraling and blossoming in terms of expansive movement through pitch and tonality. I've become very interested in expressions of tonality that wander instead of resolve, and the experience of listlessness it can create. In my mind, this experience is similar to watching pedals growing upwards along a stem.
